SPRING FAIR - 27th April 2013

Waiting to receive customers on the door

On the morning of Saturday 27th April about a hundred and forty people attended the Church Annual Spring Fair at St Paulís Parish Hall in Grange over Sands. Bunting flapped in a light wind outside but inside it was warm and cosy. It was a wonderfully busy occasion, and at times there was standing room only to sample the delicious breakfast buns crammed with yummy bacon, egg and sausages. There were plenty of bargains to be snapped up and exciting prizes to be won on the raffle and tombola. The cake stall was very much in demand and was crammed with delicious home made cakes, jams and chutneys. The book stall did a roaring trade as people stocked up ready for their holiday reading. Toys flew off the shelves and a queue soon formed at the bric-a-brac stall. The plant stall was well supplied and a lot of interest was shown in the hardware and tool stall. The Mothersí Union stall was crammed with interesting gifts and proved to be very popular. The whole event was enhanced by music on the piano and the recorder and flute played by talented youngsters. The event was blessed by good weather and altogether a good time was had by all - and we raised the grand total of £1240.
